We are continuously expanding our vehicle fleet since 2004. We started our double vehicle fleet with only 2 vehicles in 2004. Today we have 19 vehicles in total. Currently, we are expanding our double vehicle fleet, which is the first and only of Turkey, so that we could serve more customers with these vehicles.

IZMIR-Giving international transportation service with the Turkish and German plate vehicles, Meltem A.S., with its double trailers creates difference for sensitive loads that cannot be put over each other. While 33 Euro pallets fits in standard trailers in the single floor loads, this number becomes 55 in double trailers. This enables a great expense advantage

Stating that they have started operation in 1982 in Antalya, Murat Bulut, Aegean Region Manager of Meltem Uluslar arası Taşımacılık ve Ticaret A.S. said "Our company takes its name from the famous Meltem (breeze) wind of Antalya. Mainly making land transportation to Middle East in the foundation years, our company headed to Europe due to the increasing politic unrests in Middle East. Our brother company in Munich, Meltem Internationale Spedition & Handels GMBH was opened in 1993. In 1995, with the opening of Ro-Ro lines, the route has been diversified. Currently we are making complete and partial transportations to Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, and France."

Emphasizing that different from other companies in the sector, giving service with 126 vehicles all of which belong to their company, Bulut continued "But our main difference is double trailers which we have in our vehicle fleet that no other company in Turkey except us use. In addition to standard taut and refrigerated trailers in its vehicle fleet, we have 20 Double Trailers. Double Trailers have a great advantage for sensitive products that cannot be stocked over each other because while 33 euro pallet is carried in standard trailers, this number becomes 55 in double trailers. So you may make approximately 70 percentages more transportation with a trailer. Besides, double trailers provide the opportunity to simultaneously transport different kinds of goods. All of these create a great saving on transportation expenses."

Describing that they have been giving service for almost 15 years with double trailers designed by company Burn, centered in Holland, Murat Bulut said "The price of standard trailers is around 30 thousand Euro, the price of double trailers are around 85-90 thousand Euro. Although the first investment expense is high, the benefit is great. 80% of products we carry from Germany to Turkey are medical products. Since we cannot place pallets over each other for these products, double trailers have a great advantage. In addition to medical products, we also give service to sectors such as cosmetics, cleaning which require sensitivity in transportation."

Saying that 35 vehicles in their fleet have German plate, Bulut continued "These vehicles which belong to our company in Munich have free movement right in Europe. So they don't have pass certificate problems and they can make transportation from a point inside Europe to another one inside Europe. So, except the holiday periods in Europe, these vehicles almost always move. Ministry of Transportation gives points to international transportation companies every year. According to 2010 evaluation, we were on the 9th rank in means of productivity. This success is due to ring runs in Europe."

Istanbul branch will be open this month

Stating that they don't serve as agency or forwarder, they completely serve with their own vehicles; Murat Bulut said "We are working on electronic and project transportation mainly for automotive industry and generally food, textile, industry products, electronic and project transportation. We are one of the companies using Ro-Ro line in Cesme more. We are providing employment to around 100 people within our body. Last year, we have found the first A type general warehouse in private sector in Antalya. We are mainly giving service with refrigerated vehicles in this city. At the end of last year, we carried our Trailer park, storage and administrative office in the different parts of Izmir to the plants in Kemalpasa. This month, one of the important developments for our company is the opening of our branch in Ikıtelli. By doing so, we will increase our effect on Istanbul market."

Our new investments on vehicle fleet are continuing. With the 5 new trucks we have added to our fleet this month, we are providing you a younger and speedier vehicle fleet.

Our quality trip starting with ISO 9001:2000 certificate in 2005 is continuing. We are amending our quality management system with the audits every year. Our last certificate renewal audit was also successfully passed and we have gained right to renew our ISO 9001:2008 certificate for 3 years. We will continue to perform the requirements of our quality management system as MELTEM and we will do anything necessary to obtain other certificates.

Our investments on vehicle fleet are continuing. We have added 9 new sliding roof sliding curtain trailer to our current taut trailers.

In addition to our investments on vehicle fleet, we have also renewed our logistics program and with the aim of providing easier, more speedy and controlled documentation, we have made new logistics program investments. We have presented our new program which we have been using for a while for trial purposes in 2011 and we have started to form our new database.

As we did last year, we celebrated this year all together again. We wished from New Year to bring us beauties with delicious appetizers, gifts, all our employees and some business partners…. Meltem family is growing more and more each year.

We have carried our Alsancak office where we have served until now to Kemalpasa in order to increase our storage services and manage our whole organization from a single place. We have storage and transfer services in our new place in Kemalpasa.

We have added new ones to our success by achieving all targets we have until the mid of 2010. In order to achieve all our targets we have until the end of year and perform bigger works with a bigger fleet, we have added 5 trucks and 10 new trailers to our fleet.

In order to provide uninterrupted service to our customers and increase our work speed, we are continuing to renew and invest on our fleet. We are continuing our activities by adding 2 new trucks to our fleet.

Better service is provided with newer vehicles. We are here to provide you better service…
